Friends are great for the soul but bad for the waistline.

So far the Memorial Day weekend have involved two very gargantuan meals.  Friday, Sonia, Derek, Amy, DianaPat, Lucy and I had an impromptu gathering at Puttanesca.  In addition to everyone's very large pasta dishes (in particular Pat's super sized chicken parm), we also shared large helping of appetizers and desserts.  We then proceeded to digest all that by going to watch "Waitress".  I totally didn't realize that an recent Law & Order: SVU episode I've seen was based on Adrienne Shelley's (the director, writer and actor, in the movie) murder until Sonia described the details of the murder.  I know L&O episodes are "ripped from the headlines" but usually I've heard of the headlines prior to watching the fictional episode on TV.  It's very bizarre the other way around because it kind of makes the real story seem fictional as well.

Saturday, we started the night early at Bluesmoke for Sonia's bday dinner.  Once again, a ridiculous amount of food was order and consumed.  I'm so totally used to our perpetual overindulgence that I don't even think about it anymore, but Lucy who haven't had as much chance to take part in as many gorge fests asked at some point if we always eat this much and sadly, yes we do.  It seriously is a good thing we do not live in Texas were portions are much bigger, otherwise we would all be uber rotund.  We followed up dinner with an activity slightly less sedentary than last night's movie.  We Karaok-ed for like five hours and managed to sing in every language (English, Japanese, Mandarin and Cantonese) they had available except for Thai.

So far its been a fun weekend with still two whole days of eating to look forward too (including Sunday's BBQ at Pat's).  I didn't take pictures, but I'm sure many will be provided on someone's xanga, facebook or flickr. . . .

Vaguely speaking . . .

Some difficult things have finally come to an end and work itself out this week.  Mom is okay.  Work is good.

My roommate agreed to fostering the kitty and then changed her mind after I filled out the paper work and etc and was about to go pick her up.  Sooooooooo sad now.

I want this cat sooooo badly!!!!!!!!!  I saw her at the Kips Bay Petco the other day.  I don't understand why she's not getting adopted.  Apparently they need a foster home for her (short-term) because she's been there, in a cage, for too long.  She is really smart and loves my yo-yo.  I just have to get my roommate to agree to it.  If any of y'alls out there want a cat, please take her!

My sitemeter went away.   Now I don't know whether or not my site is getting zero hits a day.
